Do I really need NETA certified technicians? We get this question a lot, and the truth is, sometimes it depends.

If you need a technician who goes beyond just knowing how to test equipment, one that actually understands why the results of those tests matter, then the answer is yes.

A NETA accreditation = confidence!

Great reminder that visual inspections matter.

At a Solar Farm, an intermittent ground fault on the HV main feeder occurred during rainy conditions. We reviewed the SEL-651R relay fault event records, and a Magna IV Engineering technician was able to pinpoint the fault area. A field inspection then revealed a hole in the Phase B revenue metering CT, that allowed moisture ingress and created a path to ground.

By combining relay analysis with hands-on inspection we were able to successfully identify the root cause, then resolve the fault, replace the CT, test it, and energize the site.

All in a days work! 💪

Shoutout to Faisal Abughali for sharing this one - and for the reminder that even with all the data and diagnostics at our fingertips, getting into the field and looking at the equipment still matters.

If something isn't reliable, it isn't sustainable.

This switchgear installation is way more than clean cable management and organized terminations (but it is nice to look at). What it really represents is a system designed to perform.

Some companies don’t prioritize reliability, because in the end it keeps you coming back and spending more money. But here, our NETA-accredited teams make reliability the foundation. From the start, we engineer for longevity, and we test for resilience. We verify that every breaker, relay, bus bar, and the countless things in between are doing exactly what they’re designed to do.
