Following the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, nearly 10 million trees were planted across more than 14,000 acres of National Forest land, with survival exceeding 70%.

That ability to grow and regenerate is a big part of what makes the PNW such productive forestry country, creating an ongoing need for forest mulching, vegetation management, fuel reduction, and site preparation.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) has awarded $10 million in grant funding to 17 projects aimed at strengthening California's forest-sector workforce, reducing wildfire risks, and improving forest health. These investments will help create new jobs, build a stronger forestry workforce, support healthier forests, and better protect communities across the state.
