What’s happening beneath the streets of Parry Sound? 👀

Progress is underway on Sewage Pumping Station No. 2 on Ch*****ne Street. 🚧
✅ Wet well and dry well substantially underway
✅ Pump house foundation and roof trusses installed
✅ 260m of new watermain
✅ 550m of sanitary sewer
✅ 320m of new forcemain
✅ 150m of new storm sewage

You may not see most of this infrastructure once the project is complete, but it will help keep Parry Sound’s wastewater system reliable and ready to support the community for years to come.

Thanks to the Town of Parry Sound, our project partners, and contractors for the great work so far! 🙌

🌿🐢 Five years of volunteering with Bay Land Trust, and this year's habitat restoration day brought some new experiences.

Our team spent the day removing invasive phragmites from wetlands in Georgian Bay, took part in the release of baby turtles into restored habitat, and learned from Tasheena Logan of the Moose Deer Point Lands Department, who led a smudging ceremony and shared teachings on our connection to the land.

From hands-on restoration to seeing wildlife return to the very ecosystems being protected, the day offered a meaningful look at the impact of conservation in action.

Thank you to GBLT for the opportunity to contribute, learn, and help care for these special places. 💚

And just like that, summer is coming to an end, and it’s time to say goodbye to our co-op students as they return to their studies. 👋

Since joining this spring, 25 students have spent the past four months learning, growing, and gaining real-world experience through site visits, design reviews, and project work across our technical teams.

As they head back to school this fall, we're proud to have been part of their learning journey and grateful they chose to spend their summer with us. 💚

Before officially hanging up their construction hats for the summer, a few students shared their thoughts on the experience and what they learned along the way.

Meet Michael Hunter, Project Manager in our Bracebridge office. 👋

After years of working remotely for a national firm, Michael joined Tatham in 2024 and traded his home office for a front-row seat to the projects shaping Muskoka and Parry Sound.

As a Project Manager, he helps deliver essential infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction, working closely with municipalities, contractors, and stakeholders every step of the way.

What he enjoys most? Seeing the real impact of his work in the communities he calls home. 🏡

900 Acres in 90 Minutes

That’s the kind of efficiency Tatham’s Geomatics team has been delivering this summer as we’ve put our new drone-based LiDAR technology to work across a variety of projects.

In a recent deployment, our team captured approximately 900 acres of survey data in just 90 minutes of flight time, collecting millions of data point and mapping the landscape with centimeter-level accuracy. The result is a high detailed digital representation of the site, providing critical data that would traditionally takes weeks of field work to obtain.

This technology allows us to gather accurate terrain and site information faster, safer, and more efficiently, supporting land development, aggregate and quarry operations, infrastructure planning, water resource management, and environmental projects.

But the real value isn't just speed. It's helping our clients understand their sites earlier, make more informed decisions, reduce uncertainty, and move projects forward with greater confidence.

Because the best projects start with the best information.

📍 A new two-lane roundabout is taking shape at County Road 4 (Yonge Street) and 9th Line in Town of Innisfil!

This project will improve safety, traffic flow, and help support future growth in the community. From the air, you can already see key roundabout features coming together as construction progresses.
Beyond the intersection itself, our team is also delivering drainage upgrades, utility improvements, lighting, and construction staging as part of this County of Simcoe project.

Stay tuned for more progress updates! 🚧

From bold shirts to big hearts, our Hawaiian BBQ tradition brings out the best in . 🌺🌴

This year, four of our offices swapped their usual business attire for tropical prints and fired up the grills to raised money for causes close to home.

For every team member who dressed up, Tatham donated to their office’s chosen charity:
🌺 Barrie Food Bank
🌺 Hospice Georgian Triangle (Collingwood)
🌺 Manna Food Bank (Bracebridge)
🌺 The Ottawa Hospital - L'Hôpital d'Ottawa’s Cancer Centre

We're thrilled to announce the promotion of Steve Taylor to Manager - Electrical at Tatham.

With 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, Steve has led major subdivision developments, critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects, and substation initiatives that power and support growing communities across Ontario.

Throughout that time, his technical expertise, strong client relationships, and leadership have helped strengthen our Electrical Department, expand its capabilities, and support the development of emerging engineers and project leaders.

As Manager - Electrical, Steve will build on that success, guiding the department into its next chapter while continuing to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
He will be supported by Gerhard Runge, P.Eng., who will continue sharing his expertise and mentorship in the role of Senior Engineer.

Heading to Muskoka this weekend? 🚗☀️

If your travels take you through Bala, you'll likely cross the iconic Bala Falls Bridge. This Muskoka landmark has served residents, cottagers, and visitors for nearly a century.

While it may be a familiar sight to summer travellers, the bridge was once the focus of a significant preservation and rehabilitation effort completed in partnership with the Township of Muskoka Lakes.

The rehabilitation preserved an important piece of Muskoka's heritage while strengthening a critical connection through Bala, helping ensure the bridge can safely serve residents, businesses, and visitors for decades to come.

✅ Have you crossed the Bala Falls Bridge this summer? Learn more about the work that helped preserve this local landmark.
