New 2025 high-visibility standards are raising the bar with 360° visibility, wider reflective striping, and improved low-light performance—all aimed at reducing struck-by incidents on site.

What this means:
Make sure your gear is visible from all angles, up to standard, and in good condition. Older vests may no longer be compliant.

Sleep inertia—the fog right after waking—can impair memory, decision-making, and accuracy, especially in the first 3–30 minutes.

At work:
• Re-reading emails

Keywest Fresh Talent Spotlight: Alex Wahl

Originally from Ontario, Alex has called Alberta home since 1998, spending over a decade in Fort McMurray and gaining experience at Shell Canada’s Albian Sands facility. She joined Keywest in June 2024 as a Project Engineering EIT, where she supports project ex*****on through vendor coordination, RFQs, and ensuring equipment meets technical standards from fabrication through delivery.

With a background in mechanical engineering from the University of Western Ontario, Alex is currently pursuing her MBA at Laurentian University. Her passion for math and science, combined with a strong interest in Alberta’s oil and gas industry, continues to drive her commitment to responsible and sustainable development.

Outside of work, Alex is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and nutrition coach, a busy mom of three, and an avid gym-goer currently taking on Hyrox training. When she’s not staying active, you’ll likely find her baking or spending time with her two Frenchies.

Her favorite part of Keywest? The people. A supportive, open-door culture where learning is encouraged and collaboration comes naturally.
