We built a custom CIP return pump the other day. We did so by adding a self-priming kit to a standard C+216 portable centrifugal pump assembly.

Once the system is filled with liquid, the top tank retains enough fluid to keep the pump primed. In a remote CIP system, one pump (the CIP supply pump) sends the cleaning solution to the tank being cleaned, while the other (the CIP return pump) returns the solution to the CIP system. Without a self-priming setup, air can enter the return line, causing the pump to lose prime or become air-locked.

This setup offers a practical and cost-effective way to achieve CIP return functionality using a standard centrifugal pump. It's also great for applications where you don't want to lose prime, such as emptying multiple totes of liquid, alcohol, or flavourings.

Yesterday we celebrated and thanked Tracey for 18 amazing years at CPE Systems Inc.! 🎉

Over the years, Tracey has worn many hats, but her main role was keeping things running smoothly in the warehouse and making sure your orders were taken care of.

She has been a strong and steady support not only as a valued team member, but also as a friend to many of us here at CPE. Thank you for being such an important part of CPE over the years. You will truly be missed around the office.

Let's revisit how to select the right sanitary transfer hose for you 👇

1. Vintner Reserve.
This fan-favourite hose uses spiral-plied synthetic fabric and a non corrosive monofilament helix to rebound after being crushed, all while remaining flexible.

2. Vintner Lite.
The lightweight redesign of the Reserve. The inner tube is slightly thinner, but maintains its durability. It’s ideal for high-traffic areas as its crush-resistant and easy to transfer.

3. Brewers (Brewline)
This brewery-tailored hose is built to withstand wear and tear. It’s light and flexible, while still remaining durable (kink, crush, and light vacuum resistant).

4. Distillers (Versachem)
This hose has a chemical resistant and static-dissipating UHMWPE lining for explosive atmospheres. Reinforced with dual steel helix wires and a corrugated EPDM cover.
