What a bittersweet milestone! After 8 years of dedicated service, our CEO Michael Wrinch has completed his final national board meeting at the 239th Engineers Canada Annual Meeting in Calgary.

Michael’s leadership has left a lasting mark on the Canadian engineering landscape. While Engineers Canada prepares to welcome its new board and incoming president, we want to take a moment to celebrate Michael’s legacy of advocacy and innovation.

He capped off the week with a classic Alberta-style dinner at Heritage Park, the perfect way to reflect on a rewarding journey with great food and brilliant company.

We have some exciting news to share! Our CEO, Michael Wrinch, was just honored with the Agent of Change Award from Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC).

If you’ve worked with Michael, you know he’s never been one to focus only on the technical side of things. For him, leadership is about the people. Whether he’s partnering with Indigenous communities on solar projects or mentoring the next generation of talent, Michael is always looking for ways to make sure everyone has a seat at the table.

What a night! We are still buzzing from the 2026 ACEC-BC Awards Gala. Receiving an Engineering Excellence Award in the Small Firm Projects category for the Haida Nation Solar Array is a proud milestone for our team.

It was a pleasure to celebrate the achievements of our peers, especially fellow category finalists BKL Consultants and Water Street Engineering. The work being done by small firms to build sustainable infrastructure across BC is truly inspiring. Cheers to everyone involved!

Thanks to ACEC-BC for a memorable night!

Michael Wrinch and Graham Lovely challenge the common narrative surrounding the talent gap. They discuss the engineering journey as a continuous "conveyor belt" that begins long before university and emphasize that industry leaders have a direct obligation to mentor students.

By engaging early, professionals can help the next generation align their education with the reality of the field.

Engineering excellence shouldn’t be limited by a map, which is why Matt Keeler, Director of Client Solutions, and Andreas Huster, Director of Engineering, traveled to Colombia to meet with amusement ride teams in person.

At Hedgehog Technologies, we know that complex engineering challenges aren’t solved behind a desk. They are solved at the park, on the ride, and side by side with the people who make these world-class attractions possible.

We don’t let borders limit our support. Whether we are providing technical expertise or exploring new partnerships, we go exactly where the impact is needed most.

Our commitment to safety and innovation is global. If there is a problem to solve, we will be there.
