Improvement of fans for cement industry
Cement manufacturing is one of the most fundamental industries in the world. Currently, cement and the concrete and reinforced concrete made from it are the main building materials in almost every factory, office or infrastructure project. Operating conditions such as abrasives, dust and high temperatures cause uneven wear on the blades of industrial fan. Dust can build up inside the impeller, add weight and lead to imbalance. Canada Blower engineering department investigated the trajectory and energy of solid particles, their sizes and their chemical composition, and also developed deflectors that change the structure of the flow, allowing to minimize negative consequences. But this industry also poses quite complex challenges for industrial equipment. Dust, abrasive wear, extreme temperatures, these are all essential attributes in the production of cement under harsh conditions and around the clock.
Large and special fans are often subject to the effects of wear. Abrasive environment, which saturates the pumped air settle on the material. The sucked particles fall on all structures of the fan - impeller blades, housing, inlet cone and bearings.
The damage caused leads to a decrease in the thickness of the material and thus a shortened fan life, as well as a decrease in performance or imbalance, which will prevent further operation. From an economic point of view, it is more profitable to invest in preventive protective measures.

The content of abrasive or aggressive materials requires mandatory determination of optimal wear protection and its placement is vibration. Fan engineers increase the rigidity of the rotor, while fan speed by 30% less than the first critical speed, which avoids resonance and minimizes vibration.
High quality cement depends on accurate gas flow and fan speed control. This applies to the preheater, cooling devices and gases generated during the cement production process.

All airstream parts are constructed of fiberglass reinforced plastic and mounted on an all welded, heavy-gauge steel base.
