Weekend project customer states :
Welder runs but doesn’t weld . Validate complaint and come to find out no or low output on leads and on 115/230v plugs aswell.
Cause - check slip rings and brushes✅
Check engine stator/ alternator output ✅
Check all grounds and selector connections✅
Check bridge rectifier✅
Check voltage path - found no voltage out of rheostat/potentiometer aka fine voltage adjustment. The 115/230 plug ins only work when the fine voltage is set to 10/max . Jump out potentiometer from input to high output and everything works .
Correction- replace fine voltage potentiometer.
Tomorrow when Gasco opens I will see if they have or can order a new one

We found a deal on a boat needed a impeller. So the apprentice and I replaced it,cleaned the fuel tank replaced the filter , tune up and battery. Then went for a rip bud !!! Know anyone looking for a great little boat get ahold of us .$3500 .

Hope everyone had a great August long weekend. I did a couple little projects around the shop . Here is one (the cart came from the river bank down the road from the house . So technically I am cleaning up the environment) it fits everything wire feed , aluminum spool gun , plasma cutter , a toolbox with all our consumables , welding rods , helmets and masks , stinger whip , tig torch , air arc gouge , grinders , gas bottle and anything else you want to add…
PS a god damn zip tie will still render it useless!!!!! 🤣

Here’s a fun little project HW and I did. We bought a blademaster triple head skate sharpening machine , 10‘ x 8‘ enclosed trailer.  240V/120V Onan generator, capable of single or 3 phase power fabricated, and mounted it onto the front of the trailer with a large fuel tank. Installed the workbench and rigged out with tools. Installed a 4D battery for the generator starting and a solar panel to provide battery charging and 12 V LED lights wired and installed all electrical. The machine is capable of running off the generator or plugged into the wall at your home or the ice rink . Complete mobile skate, sharpening business on wheels towable by most SUVs. It was a great project and is off to its new owner in the Okanogan.
