During the First World War, Gray Tools developed custom machinery for Canada’s war effort, including a machine that removed burned gunpowder from fired howitzer shells. The shells arrived at our facility in sturdy metal storage boxes.

By 1952, those same boxes were still working hard - and today, 112 years later, they remain a vital part of our storage system. In fact, they're so vital that we built our own custom lift system to move them through our warehouse.

And if anyone at the Department of National Defense was wondering… no, you can’t have them back ;)
