Food trucks are officially coming to Toronto parks this summer — and it could change how people hang out in the city. Council has approved a pilot program that will allow food trucks and carts to operate in selected parks from June 25 to October 12.
The program opens the door for mobile vendors to set up in designated park areas, with some larger parks expected to host multi-vendor hubs instead of just one operator.
City staff say the move is meant to fix a long-standing issue where food options in parks have been limited and inconsistent, often restricted to a few locations or locked behind exclusive vendor agreements.
The rollout will act as a test run for a broader strategy, with the city planning to use feedback from this summer to shape a long-term food program for parks starting in 2027.
