Well, summers over, at the Seed Plant anyways...we awaken Alice tomorrow to clean a lot of HRS Wheat, so if you have some wheat kicking around that you want cleaned get ahold of us right away because we'll be moving onto peas next week.

Our after school/summer employee, Brandon, is leaving us. It seems he thinks there is better things out there in this great big world for him than our little Seed Plant and he is headed to school to become a Nuclear Engineer, yes you read that right! A Nuclear Engineer. I promised him a career as a Seed Plant Engineer if he wants to "Engineer" things, but he didn't fall for it.
All joking aside, we could not be prouder of Brandon!! He has been an integral part of our team for the past 3 years and he will be deeply missed and in his words "good luck replacing him with a better grunt"! That said, if you know of a strong backed, high school kid who wants a job we are looking. Must be mature, self starter type although will be given tasks, NOT allergic to grains and dust of any kind, and cats, able to lift 50lbs repeatedly, not afraid to work hard and have fun as part of our team!! Must have own transportation. This is an after school or during spares position. A couple hours a day at most idea, but you have no idea how helpful those couple hours are! This team member will learn many valuable skills transferrable to life and have fun operating a Bobcat, etc. Ideally, apply in person here at the Plant.

In other news...I know Mother Nature is well, a word I shouldn't use on Facebook, the hay situation especially for horses is rather dire, so I have stocked up on Hay (tim/alf) cubes, straight Alfalfa cubes, and straight Alfalfa pellets. They can replace or stretch your hay. Call us 780-826-3509 to get you some or discuss feed options!

Update time! Grain cleaning for the season seems to be wrapped up. Alice, the Plant, is having a well deserved break and some TLC. If you have Forage seed still here or need grain please get it ASAP as the Bobcat will be going in for some repairs in August, so we will not be able to load you that month. Our Common Seed Oats are all sold out. Brandon is the face of the Plant again for the summer.

Well, the cleaning season is finally winding down here at the Plant. If you have anything you are wanting to get cleaned reach out ASAP, 780-826-3509, as there is only about a couple weeks left that cleaning machines will operate before the Plant is closed for summer maintenance.
Brandon will be the face of the Plant again for the summer with our regular retail hours 10-4 Monday thru Friday.
If you ordered Hay seed from us and have not picked it up this is another friendly reminder that it is here and ready for you to put it in the field...assuming the field isn't under water!

UPDATE: We are hopefully wrapping up cleaning oats in the next couple days in here for the farmers. If you have oats or anything else this is your notice to give me a call 780-826-3509 to get on the schedule. My plan is to switch priorities to cleaning some oats for the Chuckwagon guys by Wednesday if all my Farmers are happy with what they have done. Hope seeding is going well, as well as going around all the water holes goes, but hey, at least we have moisture!!

Just a little update on all things Plant. We are crazy busy cleaning grain, currently a little bit of HRS, followed by some Peas hopefully, and then Barley for a week or so and finishing up with Oats, both brown and white. We know with the sudden switch from winter to summer everyones yards are a mess, but please try to plan ahead for it, we can't afford the Plant to be sitting on downtime right now with how tight the schedule is. We will accommodate either early morning or late evening unloading of grain to clean if it helps you out yard wise to do things when the ground might be a little stiffer in cooler temps.

Fertilizer is in stock and starting to fly out of here already.

Common White Seed Oats are already in stock and ready for pickup. They are selling on a first come first serve basis, paid and picked up. So to secure your oats, please plan and get them out of here sooner than later.

Brown Seed Oats are currently sold out. We are trying to source some more so if you're set on Brown reach out to us on a regular basis 780-826-3509 and check if we were able to find some.

Enjoy the fact that Winter seems to be over and we've skipped straight to Summer!! Let it dry up quickly and happy Seeding Season everyone!!

I know the weather is doing this to us right now but it is time to plan ahead to green lawns and pastures and we've got you covered for that! Fertilizer is in stock and a 20kg bag costs $47.00 for lawn, $48 for lawn & garden. Get it now and be prepared for the nicer weather ahead that Mother Nature owes us!!

We will be closed tomorrow, Good Friday through the entire weekend and Easter Monday for the Holiday and to give us all a well deserved rest with our families. See you back Tuesday morning where we will resume cleaning Barley and feeding all the animals!
