The UPDATE is that it's OPEN!

UPDATE 2026-05-01: Necessary grading work to support the reopening of the boat launch has been completed. The launch is now open. Thank you for your patience while these repairs were made.

The Municipality is aware of repair-related concerns regarding the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) boat launch ramp in Bayfield. These concerns were brought forward by DFO, as the owner of the ramp, and the Municipality has been working with DFO to discuss solutions for the upcoming boating season.

At this time, the ramp remains closed while next steps are being reviewed. The Municipality recognizes the importance of boat launch access to residents, visitors and harbour users, and will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.

Have old sails collecting dust? Don't toss them, pass them along! We are collecting used sails for repurposing and new life on the water. Drop yours off at Bayfield Marine before May 8th! Lilliana from will be picking them up. She is requesting "white sails" only, no kevlar, not laminated.
