Some projects stand out because of their scale or complexity. Others stand out because of the role they play in bringing people together.

The new Oxford Baptist Church in Woodstock, Ontario is one of those projects.

Designed to support a vibrant and growing congregation, this 19,400 sqft facility creates space for worship, connection and community. From the 500-seat sanctuary and bright atrium to the library, meeting rooms and dedicated children’s ministry spaces, every detail was built with purpose and long-term vision in mind.

Steelway was proud to supply the steel building system for this meaningful project, working alongside Baribeau Construction to help bring the vision to life. While our buildings are often associated with industrial and commercial applications, this project is a great example of how steel construction can also support warm, welcoming spaces that serve communities for generations.

Some projects stand out because of their size or complexity. Others stand out because of what they mean to the people who rely on them every day.

The Ucluelet Water Treatment Plant is one of those projects.

Built to address long-standing water quality concerns in the community, this facility helps bring local treatment processes in line with the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality. For years, residents experienced elevated levels of manganese, iron and turbidity, along with ongoing brown water issues.

This new facility changes that story.

By removing iron and manganese from the water supply, the project restores confidence in something every community depends on: clean, safe drinking water.

It may appear to be a simple structure, but the impact behind it is significant. This project represents health, trust and a better quality of life for the community it serves.

Congratulations to JCI Buildings, recipient of the Best in Class – Infrastructure award for the Ucluelet Water Treatment Plant, presented during our 2026 National Builder Meeting in Costa Mujeres, Mexico. Some projects just stand out, and this is one of them.

Part of a five-pad arena complex, this build features two dry pad arenas constructed directly above active ice surfaces, creating a true two-storey rink setup. Steelway provided the covering structure for the upper rinks, supported by a concrete base that elevates the entire building.

Spanning 256' x 216' with a height of 27'3", the structure is engineered with two centre posts set 20' apart, delivering impressive 118' spans over each rink. A 6'4" parapet allows for internal gutters, and the building ties seamlessly into a conventional structure, keeping both form and function in check.

Congratulations to Colony Construction on earning the Best in Class – Recreation award for the Ice and Dry Floor Arenas Facility at the Langley Events Centre. From bright eggs to bold ideas, this season is all about bringing a bit of energy and fun into everything we do. However you’re celebrating, we hope it’s filled with family, laughter and a few sweet surprises along the way.
