Did you know the skid steer loader was born on a turkey farm? In 1957, Minnesota brothers Cyril and Louis Keller built a small three-wheeled loader so a local farmer could clean out his turkey barn without tearing the place up.

Melroe Manufacturing picked up the design, added a second set of drive wheels in 1960 to create the M400, the world's first true skid steer, and by 1962 the machine had a new name: Bobcat. Nearly 70 years later, that same idea still anchors jobsites everywhere.
