A little bit about our weights:
Local steel fabricator, Gordon Campbell, designed and built his own set of weights due to the shortage of weights and gym closures during the current Covid pandemic. After posting pictures on Facebook, received inquiries asking if they were for sale.
Most dumbbells are cast iron but these plates are cut from solid steel and then CNC machined. This means the plates are a more consistent weight. Plates are welded to a 1 inch round bar (handle) so they are very solid and have no chance of retaining bolts coming loose. The 1 inch round bar does not have knurling (grip). Each weight will weigh 1.5lbs more than the listed weight due to the handle. Weights are available with a powder-coated finish for 1150. Note there will be two small spots on the handle that will not have a powder coat on it because they have to be hung up to be coated. Powder coating is more durable than paint but will still chip and scratch. If you feel the powder coating adds too much cost, you can order the raw steel ones at 910. for the whole set and paint them yourself. If you choose raw steel and don't paint them, they will rust quickly if they get wet.
The rack is made from ⅛ inch steel and is fully welded. It is heavier duty than most commercial racks that you will find.
