Cam Follower
Volkswagen Group 2.0TFSI

A Cam Follower transfers motion from the Cam Shaft to the High Pressure Fuel Pump(HPFP). A broken/punched Cam Follower can cause a very sever damage on the engine resulting in a very high bill as it will require to replace Camshaft, Cam Follower itself and HPFP.

Questions may arise as to;

1.How do I know my Cam Follower it's Bad?🤔
•Sudden power loss,
•Engine stuttering (skipping) under load,
•A high-pitched tapping or clicking sound from the engine top.
It commonly triggers check engine lights (P0087, P2293, P1093) due to fuel pressure issues and can lead to immediate engine damage.

2. When to Inspect/Replace?
•For Stock(Untuned) Engines, 30,000km - 50,000km
•For Modified/Tuned Engines, 5,000km - 8,000km

A regular oil change and use of recommended API oil can also save Cam Follower from immediate wear!!
