As part of this year’s event organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Action,” Poni Group and our partners were honoured to host two insightful sessions highlighting maritime innovation, sustainability, and heritage conservation.

The first session, “The Maritime Observatory: Satellite-Derived Intelligence in Shipwreck Monitoring,” was presented by Jessica Berry, CEO of the Maritime Archaeology Sea Trust (MAST), on 1st October 2025 at the BRIDEX International Conference Centre. The talk explored how satellite-derived data can be used to monitor shipwrecks and support ocean heritage preservation.

This was followed by “Technology for Decarbonization in the Maritime Industry & Green Ports,” a virtual session delivered by Dr. Arnold Gad-Briggs, Director of EGB Engineering, UK. The presentation discussed advancements in vessel optimization, alternative fuels, and the latest developments in green port technologies driving the maritime sector toward decarbonization.

Both sessions brought together experts and participants to exchange ideas on shaping a sustainable future for Brunei’s maritime industry. Poni Group extends our appreciation to everyone who joined us at BDMW 2025 — together, we move towards a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient ocean future. 🌎⚓️

Poni Marine is honoured to be part of Brunei Darussalam Maritime Week (BDMW) 2025, officially launched on 30th September 2025 at the BRIDEX International Conference Centre under the theme “Our Ocean, Our Obligation, Our Action.”

Organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD), the event serves as a key platform to strengthen collaboration, innovation, and dialogue within the maritime sector.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha, Minister of Transport and Infocommunications and Chairman of MPABD, and featured special messages and initiatives highlighting Brunei’s commitment to sustainable maritime development.
