Everyone talks about impact these days. But how can we distinguish initiatives that genuinely transform society from those that remain good intentions?

On June 15, our CEO, Jan Haemers will participate in the first-ever Solvay Impact Summit, organized by the newly established Solvay Impact Institute at ULB.

As part of the panel "Private and Public Entrepreneurship", Jan will join leading Belgian entrepreneurs and ecosystem builders to discuss a question that resonates deeply with us:

The discussion will explore how entrepreneurship can drive innovation, address public challenges, and contribute to systemic change - topics that are particularly relevant as Europe tackles environmental issues such as PFAS contamination.

Today marks the end of Axel’s internship at Haemers Technologies!

🔬 Over the past months, Axel joined our Technology Development team and took part in the development of a long-range optical flame detection sensor. From sensor characterization to electronic design and Python development, he contributed to several key aspects of the project.

🔥 As part of his final-year project, he also worked on enhancing a diesel burner with a remote flame, helping to explore and improve innovative combustion solutions.

💡 Throughout his internship, Axel showed great motivation and a proactive approach to tackling technical challenges. His involvement and fresh perspective were valuable assets to the team.

📢 Back from the NICOLE Spring Workshop 2026 in Bagnoli, Italy!

A few inspiring days dedicated to a key challenge: how to transform complex contaminated sites into sustainable, future-ready spaces.

💡 This year’s discussions focused on the strategic revitalisation of megasites, exploring how end-use vision, data-driven decision-making, technological innovation, and evolving soil policies can be better combined to support sustainable land transformation.

🤝 We were delighted to exchange ideas with such an engaged community of experts across Europe, and to contribute through our poster on “Thermal remediation of a dioxin megasite in Vietnam.”
