Great display of fellowship and teamwork during the DHL Ekiden ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฆ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ง on October the 19 in Brussels. The Six teams from De Smet Engineers & Contractors - DSEC, ๐๐๐๐ & ๐๐๐๐ run together in multiple categories; company colleagues and families joyfully supported them. Congratulations to all participants! ๐

For this ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, 4 teams of 6 runners (from ๐๐๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ and ๐๐๐๐) were on the starting blocks, cheered by our enthusiastic supporters and leaders, all set to complete the marathon distance! ๐ฅ๐
The event unfolded in a lively atmosphere, ending in a well-deserved dinner, we had a fantastic day ๐
โEvery year, about a thousand teams go to the King Baudouin Stadium for the DHL Ekiden
โEkiden teams consist of six runners, who together cover the marathon distance of 42.195 km. The first, third and fifth runner each cover 5 km, the second and fourth runner 10 km and the final runner covers the remaining 7.195 km. Each runner runs a lap on the magical track of the King Baudouin Stadium.
โThe relays are not made with a baton, but with a special ribbon. This so-called โtasukiโ hangs โ for those who want to do it according to the rules of the art โ from the shoulder, diagonally across the chest, to the hip.
โThe Ekiden is always an exciting race, as the teamโs success depends on each of the six runners. Everyone in the team therefore has an important function. That is why this competition is popular with companies, but you can also participate with five friends or family members.โ
