At Port of Coeymans, a wheel loader or dump truck fills the pan before the E Crane lifts and swings the pan to the vessel. 𝗔 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗽 𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗶𝗹𝘁-𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱. The children had their own playground, and each received an E-Crane tote bag to decorate. With paint, imagination and plenty of enthusiasm, they turned every bag into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. 🎨

We also showed our youngest guests around the new offices. When asked what they wanted to discuss in the big meeting room, their answer was unanimous: “𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗬!” 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲! 😄

As the afternoon warmed up, the ice cream queue grew—and so did the laughter. It was a wonderful reminder that a company is about more than buildings and machines. It’s about people, working, growing and celebrating together.

A special milestone for E-Crane as we officially opened our expanded facilities in Balikpapan, Indonesia.

Following a welcome by Bas Tolhuizen, Director E-Crane Asia, the official ribbon was cut by Ir. Lieven Bauwens, CEO & Founder of E-Crane, H.E. David Jordens, Ambassador of Belgium to Indonesia, and Mr. Lim Chai Hock, COO & Director of Bayan Resources, in the presence of customers, partners and our local team.

The expansion adds new offices and increases our workshop and spare-parts warehousing capacity, further strengthening the local organization supporting E-Crane customers with project management, service and spare parts.

During his welcome, Bas Tolhuizen referred to the traditional Dayak sape (music instrument) and the local saying: “Berbeda dawai, satu harmoni”, meaning: "different strings, one harmony".

It beautifully reflects the story of E-Crane Indonesia: combining our Flemish engineering roots and no-nonsense approach with Indonesian expertise, relationships and teamwork.

As H.E. David Jordens highlighted during his speech, international success requires more than a good product. It requires understanding the market, finding reliable partners, earning trust and establishing a genuine local presence.

A philosophy deeply embedded in E-Crane.

CEO Lieven Bauwens emphasized, E-Crane machines are designed for a very long working life, but the machine alone is never the complete solution. Technical expertise, local knowledge, spare-parts availability and people with a strong can-do attitude are essential throughout that lifetime.

The new screen remains compatible with E-Cranes dating all the way back to 2006, when the B Series was first introduced. That means the latest operator experience can provide a path forward for machines that have already been delivering for decades.

During a recent visit to the United States, we had the opportunity to see some of our E-Cranes at work along the Mississippi River, loading the Ultra Cougar.

And even for us, it remains impressive to see what these E-Cranes and their operators accomplish day after day.

Because the numbers only tell part of the story.

Efficiently unloading barges with floating cranes and transferring that volume of material takes serious skill, experience, and coordination. It’s demanding work where equipment and people have to work as one.

A big congratulations to the local team for an outstanding job.
