This academic year, CORE continued to inspire young minds through hands-on STEM workshops. In our 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, children learn about energy and climate challenges through fun, interactive problem-solving. Our 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝘀 offer a two-part experience:
1️⃣ An engaging session on sustainable energy, where students generate electricity themselves using our energy bikes.
2️⃣ A guided tour of 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗰 𝗟𝗲𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻, where they discover how nanochips play a key role in the green transition.

So far, we've reached 𝟯𝟲𝟬 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 this year and we’re excited to keep that number growing! 🌍⚡️

𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗢𝗥𝗘'𝘀 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗘 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 🥇
Last month, we had the chance to take part in the national finals of the BISC-E student competition, where we pitched our bio-based idea 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘅 — a sustainable fish feed ingredient made from Black Soldier Fly larvae, grown on omega-3-rich waste streams. With this concept, we aim to make aquaculture more circular and address the issue of "catching fish to feed fish" by offering an alternative to traditional fishmeal. 🐟♻️

These finals were hosted as part of the Tech Tour 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 event in Ghent — a fantastic opportunity to discover inspiring startups from across Europe. We got to observe how startup teams pitch, explore the sectors they’re innovating in, and learn about the circular solutions they’re developing. An incredibly valuable experience for us as a student team, active in the world of sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship!

Thanks to our 1st place at the national finals, we’re proud to announce that we’ll be representing Belgium at the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗖-𝗘 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀 this September! ✨

Today, we had the opportunity to visit the Insect Pilot Plant at KU Leuven Campus Geel as part of our project in collaboration with Cera cv and 37graden. 🪱🪰
During our visit, we explored potential solutions for valorizing the waste stream of low-quality walnuts in the Notenkrakken campaign. ♻️
