Three voices, one achievement.

In our latest video, CEO Patrick Vermeiren, Marketing Manager Romain Feron and R&D Manager Tomasz Kapel share what our three Red Dot Awards 2026 mean to Vermeiren International.

For Patrick, "this design award is a team sport" and what matters most in design is its ability to help people.

For Romain, this recognition "validates our vision of bringing disruptive design and emotion into a market that truly needs it" and it's the first time in the company's history.

For Tomasz, the award "confirms that great projects come from passion, collaboration and the courage to create" proof that we build products with real value.

The Vermeiren International team was at the Red Dot Award ceremony, celebrating in person the recognition of our Eon, Sync and Kuarz scooters with three Product Design 2026 awards.

Our team was at the ceremony in Essen, and it's a day we'll treasure. It's the first time Vermeiren has won a design award like this and this is just the first of many!

And being at this ceremony, representing Vermeiren, was a moment that reflects our team's commitment to combining innovation, functionality and human-centred design for the people who use our products every day.

It's a privilege to receive this award. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! 🤝

Hydration and mobility: essential care in hot weather 💧

Dehydration reduces mobility safety, causing dizziness, low blood pressure and muscle weakness, which raises the risk of falls.
The opposite happens too: reduced mobility can mean less drinking, which worsens dehydration.
Hot weather increases fluid loss through sweat, and makes movement even more tiring.

Practical tips:
⏰ Offer fluids on a schedule, especially before and after transfers or walks;
🥤 Keep water within easy reach;
☀️ Time mobility exercises for the cooler parts of the day;
👀 Watch for signs of dehydration, like dizziness, fatigue or confusion.

📌 Small habits that make a big difference in the safety of those you care for.

Before you head off, here are 4 tips for a smooth trip:

✅ Plan your route with shaded spots and rest stops. If you need help repositioning, don't hesitate to ask your attendant.
✅ Check your tyre pressure, heat can cause air loss faster than usual.
✅ Don't leave your wheelchair in direct sunlight for too long.
✅ Power wheelchair? Full battery before you leave, and check if you need a plug adapter at your destination.
