The second most common issue on the BMW M2 with the N55 isn’t tuning — it’s cooling. PART 3
The problem comes from three temperatures:
• Intake air
• Oil
• Water
Oil temp management depends on how your M2 is used.
A cost-effective solution is a lower-temperature oil thermostat.
We often install the BimmerTune oil thermostat, which opens around 80°C and typically reduces oil temperatures by 10–20°C.
If that’s not enough, an upgraded oil cooler is the next step.
Keeping oil and water temperatures under control is critical for engine longevity, especially bearings.
