International learning in action! 🌿✈️
Three students from the Tacoronte and Los Llanos de Aridane Agricultural Schools completed a 2-month Erasmus+ internship in the Netherlands with VAN DRIEL LANDSCHAPSBEHEER.
They gained hands-on experience in forestry management, livestock care, and silvopasture techniques for wildfire prevention 🔥🌲.
A big thank you to Luc Van Driel and his team for this amazing opportunity! 👏

🎤 Round tables, talks and a micro-interview workshop with realistic job interview simulations.

RIP Evelien 🇳🇱

Met veel verdriet delen wij het bericht dat onze oud-collega Evelien Kist na een kort ziekbed is overleden.

Voor velen van ons was Evelien internationalisering. Bijna veertig jaar zette zij zich met hart en ziel in voor Leonardo en Erasmus+. Eerst vanuit de tuinbouwschool in Frederiksoord en later bij Terra inspireerde zij generaties studenten en collega's om over grenzen heen te kijken, nieuwe culturen te ontdekken en kansen in het buitenland te grijpen.
Dankzij haar enthousiasme en doorzettingsvermogen kregen talloze studenten de mogelijkheid om deel te nemen aan internationale uitwisselingen, stages, vakwedstrijden en Erasmus+-projecten. Ze opende deuren, bracht mensen samen en zorgde ervoor dat internationalisering een vanzelfsprekend onderdeel werd van het groene onderwijs.

Ook buiten Terra liet Evelien haar sporen na. Jarenlang was zij een drijvende kracht binnen Carrefour Européen en EUROPEA Nederland, onderdeel van EUROPEA-International. Ze genoot ervan om mensen met elkaar te verbinden, samenwerkingen op te bouwen en nieuwe kansen te creëren voor studenten en medewerkers in heel Europa.

We zullen haar energie, enthousiasme, humor en bovenal haar vriendschap enorm missen.
Tegelijkertijd zijn we ontzettend dankbaar voor alles wat zij ons heeft gebracht. De contacten die zij legde, de ideeën die zij deelde en de mensen die zij inspireerde, leven voort in het werk dat we binnen EUROPEA Nederland en DCTerra blijven doen.

Rust zacht, Evelien. Je hebt voor velen de wereld een stukje groter gemaakt.

It is with great sadness that we share the news that our former colleague, Evelien Kist, has passed away after a short illness.

For many of us, Evelien was internationalisation. For almost forty years, she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to Leonardo and Erasmus+. First at the horticultural school in Frederiksoord and later at Terra, she inspired generations of students and colleagues to look beyond borders, discover new cultures and seize opportunities abroad.

Thanks to her enthusiasm and determination, countless students were able to participate in international exchanges, internships, skills competitions and Erasmus+ projects. She opened doors, connected people and helped make internationalisation a natural and integral part of green vocational education.

Evelien's impact extended far beyond Terra. For many years, she was a driving force within Carrefour Européen and EUROPEA Netherlands. She loved bringing people together, building partnerships and creating new opportunities for students and staff across Europe.

We will deeply miss her energy, enthusiasm, sense of humour and, above all, her friendship.
At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for everything she gave us. The connections she created, the ideas she shared and the people she inspired will continue to live on through the work we carry forward within EUROPEA Netherlands and DCTerra.

Rest in peace, Evelien. You made the world a little bigger for so many people.

🪱🔬 Did you know a compost bin is teeming with life?
Students at CIFEA Jumilla have joined , a citizen science project by CSIC (EEZ-CSIC) and Composta en Red involving 21 schools across Spain.
👀 With white trays and identification keys, they found earwigs, woodlice, beetles, earthworms and pseudoscorpions.
🧫 In the lab, the Berlese funnel revealed 875 tiny compost dwellers, mostly springtails, mites and beetle larvae.
✅ The result: a mature, sanitised compost with no Salmonella or E. coli.
🌱 And one figure we love: 92.9% of students now know invertebrates are key to transforming waste.
Science, education and the circular economy, all in one compost bin. ♻️

🚜 AgroSkills 2026 – Vocational Education in Action - Several students from green VET schools took part in the Agroskills 2026 and were very successful. These examples show what vocational education can look like when knowledge meets practice – and when young people are given opportunities to develop the practical skills needed for the future of agriculture, veterinary services, forestry, food production and rural communities.

🚜 Stredná odborná škola, Pruské was strongly represented at AgroSkills 2026. Two of its agromechatronics students achieved outstanding results: Peter Siváček took 1st place with 160.8 points, while Filip Kyselica finished 3rd with 147.6 points.

EUROPEA Academy project has started with its kick-off meeting!

On 29 September, the kick-off meeting of the EUROPEA Academy KA2 project marked an important step towards successful collaboration. We reviewed the project work plan, clarified tasks and partner responsibilities, and aligned our expectations for the implementation phase.

Special attention was given to establishing an effective cooperation framework, including monthly online meetings, as well as planning the first collaborative mobility activity in Benešov, Czech Republic.

We are excited to begin this journey together and look forward to the upcoming project activities and achievements.

The project partners are: Naturbruksförvaltningen, Västra Götalandsregionen 🇸🇪, EUROPEA Denmark 🇩🇰, Vyšší odborná škola a Střední zemědělská škola Benešov 🇨🇿, EUROPEA Estonia 🇪🇪, and EUROPEA Europe de l'Enseignement Agronomique 🇪🇺.
