M Omar Faruq, a former Contracts Engineer, Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai, UAE, is graduated from Chittagong Engineering College (now Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology, Chuet) in B.Sc. He returned to Bangladesh in 1997 and started his freelance design carrier in 33/11 kV & 11/0.4 kV substations and MEP design of factories in Readymade Garment industries. He also worked as Engineering & Energy Expert in financial sector with foreign global consulting firms like Ernest & Young (India), Frankfort School of Finance & Management (Germany), GIZ (Bangladesh), responsAbility (Switzerland), Southeast Bank Ltd. (Bangladesh), ITC Infotech (India). He worked as an Energy Expert with GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation), Dhaka, Bangladesh (2008-2010) and customized Energy Audit Protocol suitable for Bangladesh Readymade Garments (RMG) sector. He had presented Power Points on LEED “Green Building Design: Concepts, Initiatives and Procedures” at the National Seminar on LEED “Green Initiative: Better Business through going Green” organized by GIZ & Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industries (2008) and at Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industries (2009). He was Editor, UCS Bytes, UAE (1990-1994) - a computer magazine published by UAE Computer Society (UCS), Dubai and former President of Bangladesh Organic/Organo-Chemical Fertilizer Manufacturer Unit, Bangladesh Fertilizer Association (2002-2015).
