We successfully organized the SBTi Validation Workshop: Accelerating Science-Based Climate Action in Bangladesh on 17 June 2026 at KIBC Training Room, KIB Complex, Farmgate, Dhaka.
The workshop brought together industry professionals, sustainability practitioners and factory representatives to explore the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) journey in a practical and implementation-focused way. The sessions covered climate action and net-zero pathways, SBTi framework and requirements, Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions management, target-setting processes, validation requirements, common challenges and practical decarbonization strategies for the textile and apparel sector.
A key highlight of the workshop was the Experience Sharing Session, where representatives from organizations with successfully validated SBTi targets shared their real-world journeys, practical challenges and key learnings. They also reflected on their working experience with our team and appreciated the technical guidance, coordination and support provided throughout their SBTi validation process.
We were honored to have Buddhi Paranamana, Director, PDS Limited, who joined us virtually and shared PDS Limited’s SBTi validation journey with our support.
We were also pleased to have ABM Faqrul Alam, Sustainability Lead, Urmi Group, who shared Urmi Group’s SBTi validation experience, highlighting credible data, internal coordination, long-term decarbonization planning and the role of our internal platform, RTIS, in supporting the journey.
From Masco Group, we had Ahmed Eid, Senior Manager, MIS, who shared Masco Group’s SBTi validation journey, practical challenges and key learnings, while also appreciating the support provided throughout the process.
As part of the workshop, we held an Appreciation Crest Giving Ceremony to recognize PDS Limited, Urmi Group and Masco Group for their successful achievement of SBTi validation — a significant milestone in credible corporate climate action. Our COO, Mahmudul Hasan, was also present during this special moment.
The workshop also featured interactive discussions on Scope 3 data collection, supplier engagement, validation documentation, emission reduction planning and practical steps for organizations preparing to begin their SBTi journey.
We sincerely thank all participants, speakers and partner organizations for their valuable time, active engagement and meaningful contributions throughout the workshop.
We remain committed to supporting industries with practical, data-driven and implementation-focused sustainability solutions — from carbon accounting and science-based target setting to validation support and decarbonization action planning.
