A little update on our World Time Attack Challenge Datto.

With our sights set on being competitive at this years pro - open category it was all going well till it wasn’t.

We did all we could to get the car finished in time to have different testing and time to develop the car prior to the event.

Our first test at winton showed some fantastic potential. All the theory behind the build was validated very quickly which was inspiring with such a unique build in so many aspects. With such a good first test the decision was made to fast track our program and head straight to phillip island.

Our second test at Phillip island we struck disaster. The car being extremely light with plenty of power is a wild bit of kit and unfortunately had a cold tyre moment and ended our 2025 wtac campaign. With some heavy structural damage we pulled the pin as there was no way we could have repaired the car structurally in 3 weeks.

The rebuild is well under way and will get it back out testing in the coming months. It’s just moved all our planned upgrades forward whilst piecing it back together.

Also a massive congratulations to Charles, Rob and Dream Project S15 crew for winning the event, such an inspiring performance and deserving performance.

We'd like to congratulate friend and customer Anthony Meskos on making great progress with his Barra powered f6 Ute.

For the past 12 or so months the car has been living with Jamie at Forced Performance & Tuning on a barra development tear, it was good to briefly bring it back home and put it through a bit of a lightening process.

The forced guys have done an absolute astonishing job zoning in on a reliable massive horsepower package with emphasis on the valve train. With initial development going down the path of a solid lifter set up with roller rockers etc to almost end up back at a near stock set up utilising hydraulic lifters and OEM rocker arms. The success so far is really exciting for the platform from a budget perspective to go genuinely fast.

Over the past few years the cylinder head carnage we've dished out has been nothing short of painful, however the cars just run at 3 different tracks in 2 weeks with fundamentally oil changes and plugs whilst reeling off a magnitude of 7 second passes at 190+mph, she's no light weight either weighing in at 3850lbs on track (front bar wasn't on the car in the pic).

During the lightening process we set out a goal to pluck 200lbs out of the car without destroying the fact it's a streetcar. Weight was stripped from the tub, radiator set up, brake set up as well as anything that was unnecessary but not detrimental to the car being a streetcar. This was always an uphill battle with Anthony though, the full Alcantara interior, carpet, apple car play etc. shouldn't be in a car that's on its way to a low 7 second pass but that was a non-negotiable to strip!

The car managed to achieve a pass of 7.47 @ 193mph which i believe is fastest mph for a barra falcon however not a true representation of where the cars at. A later pass where it had a fair bit more power in it was held back by a minor gearbox issue. (look at the mph gain from the half-track on the 7.7 second slip)

I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of everyone's seriously hard work and commitment to this car in the near future.

A massive congratulations to close friend and customer Anthony Meskos for hitting the track for the first time in his f6 ute.

After a very successful shakedown in Sydney this week showing massive potential, it’s time to turn the wick right up

A little bit of change over the Christmas break! After more than a decade of working with Gary Gunn, he’s finally called it a day and retired. This was something we’ve been planning for quite some time, I must say I consider myself extremely privileged and thankful to of been mentored by Gary over the years and extremely grateful the position I’m now in because of himself, he was the perfect business partner as well as a friend.

Over the Christmas break I packed up the Werribee workshop and got to work on the new workshop in Williamstown, there’s still lots of little things to do (Wishlist for the factory)however the workshop is at full operating capacity with the ability to do everything we’ve done in the past plus more.

Round 1 of the Precision International National Sports Sedan Series at wakefield park just wasn’t our weekend. Few tweaks to the old girl and we are on our way to a much better round at Morgan park in a months time.

After a gruelling few days on the dyno we have the new spec power plant for the bmw ready to bolt back into the car for this years National Sports Sedan Series championship.

With a magnitude of internal changes, the switch over to drive by wire and some differences in how we’ve tuned it, couldn’t be happier with how it’s turned out!

Big thanks to Mark from M.B.Performance for this new spec engine, Simon from ETS Racing Fuels Australia for supplying the best jungle juice and also Jake Shuffell for swinging on the lap top.

Turn the volume up and enjoy, she’s a screamer!
