For those who know me, you know I will not compromise on quality unless there is just deadset no other option available. In this instance, by quality I mean parts that are not poorly made, are not prone to fail or will need to be replaced again in a years time.
If you are lucky enough to own an old Aircooled VW in this day and age, you need to remember that you have an appreciating asset! The more repro junk you put on your car, you are doing yourself a major disservice! You are actually robbing yourself of money if you ever decide to sell!
Lastly, there are a lot of choices when it comes to parts, not all are created equally, tail light lenses are a good example of this, the difference of $20 between manufacturers can mean the light is faded in 6 months Vs faded in 30 years time... chrome work is also another good example… we had a set of repro swan necks less than a year old, already have rust spots coming through the cheap chrome used on them.
Respect your car as you have something some people can only dream about owning, look after it and it will show!
Recently we found that some of our NOS parts are actually cheaper than the aftermarket equivalents out there🤣. So always remember ’Buy once, cry once’!
