Visitors and residents to areas to South West Rocks and surrounds including Hat Head and Crescent Head are urged to avoid all non-essential travel at this time.

Severe weather is continuing to impact the area, including numerous fallen trees which has resulted in many road closures.

In addition, emergency services are attending to numerous jobs and calls for assistance.

✅ UPDATE: The New England Highway is now open following earlier flooding.

⛔️🌧️ NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY CLOSED - FLOODING

The New England Highway is closed in both direction between William Street and Haydon Stret, due to flooding.

Local diversions are in place for light vehicles. Heavy vehicles will have to park or use the Golden Highway to Merriwa.
