That’s a wrap on LG Works Conference & Expo 2026.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Crommelins Machinery stand and had a chat with our Local Government BDM Chris.

It was great to speak with so many people about the challenges councils are facing across parks, roads, drainage, infrastructure and general works.

If we spoke with you at the conference and you’d like to continue the conversation, feel free to get in touch.

How much time does your crew spend removing old star pickets and fence posts?

For many councils, replacing roadside guideposts, repairing park fencing or upgrading community infrastructure starts with removing existing posts. While it might seem like a straightforward task, manual post removal can be physically demanding, time-consuming and increase the risk of operator fatigue or injury—particularly when dealing with damaged or deeply embedded posts.

Using purpose-built equipment can help improve productivity, reduce manual effort and keep maintenance crews focused on the job at hand.

The Crommelins Post Puller is designed to make post removal faster and easier. Delivering 3,059kg of pulling force, it can remove star pickets and posts from 1–85mm, making it ideal for roadside maintenance, parks, reserves, sporting facilities and other council infrastructure projects.

Less time removing old posts means more time maintaining the communities that matter.

From installing irrigation in parks to laying conduit for lighting, signage and community infrastructure, councils need equipment that helps crews complete trenching jobs accurately and efficiently.

The Crommelins Groundhog 18" Trencher is built for exactly that. Its compact, slimline design allows operators to work through narrow access points and trench close to walls, fences and garden beds—ideal for the varied environments local government teams encounter every day. With selectable digging depths of 8", 12" and 18", heavy-duty Shark tooth cutting blades and productivity of up to 3 metres per minute, it's designed to help crews get more done with less effort. It's also suited to a range of ground conditions, including sand, lawn, clay and gravel.

Whether you're expanding reticulation, upgrading parks, installing services or maintaining community infrastructure, the Groundhog Trencher is a dependable addition to any council fleet.

Every council project is different. If you're planning new irrigation, underground services or park upgrades, we'd be happy to help you find the equipment that's right for the job.

Choosing new equipment isn't just about comparing specifications.

Before making your next purchase, consider these questions:

âś” Is it built to handle Australian conditions?
âś” Are spare parts readily available?
âś” Is local service available when needed?
âś” Will it reduce downtime over its lifetime?
âś” Is it supported by experienced product specialists?

Asking these questions can make all the difference over the life of your equipment.
