Behind the Build | Timber Preparation 🪵

A little timber work with Steve at our Monbulk factory!

Here he’s putting timber through the thickness planer, bringing each piece down to a consistent thickness with a smooth, even finish.

Just one of the many steps that go into making our playground equipment, right here in Australia. 🇦🇺

Explore our Native range 🌿

There’s a lot more to Native than you might have seen.

From our unique Native Agility Trails and towering combination units, through to swings, seating and standalone play pieces, the range has been designed to work together or be mixed and matched to suit the space.

And it’s all designed by our team and made right here in Australia. 🇦🇺

A playground that makes the most of every level. 🌿

At Birrallee Primary School in Doncaster, the sloping site has become part of the play experience.

A Resilience combination unit and Perseverance Cube are joined by a series of climbing and obstacle challenges that carry play across the different levels, rather than keeping it all in one spot.

There's a natural flow from one activity to the next, with plenty of ways to climb, balance and explore along the way.

A great example of how much can be achieved when the playground is designed around the site.

Designed, manufactured and installed by Activity Playgrounds. 🇦🇺

Behind the Build | Getting ready for powder coating

Not every step in making a playground is particularly exciting to watch, but they all have their place!

Here’s Aaron blowing away dust and loose debris from the steel before it heads off for powder coating.

Just another little glimpse behind the scenes at our Monbulk factory. 🇦🇺

Designed In-House | Native Trails 🌿

Our Native Trails are something a little different, and a range we're pretty proud of.

Designed by our team, they bring together climbing, balancing and traversing activities to create a trail that can work its way through the playground, rather than keeping all the play in one structure.

There are plenty of different activities to choose from, so each trail can be put together to suit the space and the level of challenge you're looking for.

Australian made, Australian owned 🇦🇺

Designed In-House | Dragonfly Seat

Sometimes it’s the smaller pieces that give a playground its character.

Our Dragonfly Seat started with a simple idea: somewhere to sit that could also become part of the play space.

Designed by our team and made right here in Australia. 🇦🇺

Designed In-House | Rockers 🍎🚂

Who said a rocker has to be boring?

An apple, a train, a dozer… we’ve designed quite a few different ones over the years!
They’re a simple playground favourite, but also an easy way to add a bit of fun and character to a space.

Designed by our team and made right here in Australia.

We don’t import play. We make it. 🇦🇺

From steel and timber fabrication through to assembly, our playground equipment is made by our team, right here in Australia.

It’s how we’ve been doing things for 35 years, and we’re pretty proud of that.

Locally Designed. Australian Made. Built to Last.

Meet Luke 👋 Could we have found a more suitable playground installer? 😂

Luke is part of our installation team and a former Australian Ninja Warrior competitor, so climbing obstacles is nothing new to him!

Outside of work, he's usually training for his next challenge, whether that's Spartan, DEKA, HYROX, lifting weights or casually running 50km.

We're sure he secretly tests out all the playgrounds he installs... 👀

Great to have you on the team, Luke! 💪
