EXPECT MORE ROADSHOW | Van Cam

📍Wrapping Up South Australia

We've officially wrapped up the South Australian chapter of the GX Roadshow, with Josh making his way from Adelaide towards the Victorian border.

The final stretch included a stop at Majors Road Pump Track to check out a GX Akora Cantilever Shelter installation, a crossing of the Murray River aboard the Swan Reach Ferry, and a visit with Renmark Paringa Council.

While we couldn't make it to every council, we're grateful for the conversations and insights shared along the way.

One message continued to come through loud and clear: councils are under increasing pressure to manage vandalism, reduce maintenance demands and maximise the life of their assets.

When Fraser Coast Regional Council specified our TimberImage Integra Ex park seats, it wasn’t just the product that stood out, it was the purpose behind their new outdoor spaces.

We caught up with Tiffany Palmer, Animal Facilities and Education Coordinator, to learn more about their new meet-and-greet areas, designed to help new dog owners connect with adopted dogs in a calm, low-stimulation environment.

What stood out most was the passion behind their purpose - from the team to the volunteers, and the care that goes into every animal interaction. As a family-run, locally based business, community impact, especially in regional areas, is something we value deeply.

We’re proud to play a small role in projects like this.

For our clients across VIC, TAS and SA, Josh Richardson is a familiar name. Since joining GX Outdoors in 2022, he’s worked closely with councils and designers across those states.

We asked Josh to share insights from his experience working across a wide range of projects and more recently speaking with Councils as part of our Expect More Roadshow:

1. What’s one question every designer should ask before locking in park furniture?
What sort of upkeep or maintenance is going to be needed on that park so that in the future it is still going to look as good as they designed it to be. So what products are going to last a long time and continue to look as good as the day they were put in.

2. What’s one trend you’re seeing more of in park spaces?
Tending to see the use of more bright colours, although there is still a lot of our natural colour palettes being chosen, there are definitely councils and designers going out there and putting in that bright pink, and orange, and different colours other than the stock standard.

3.What’s a GX Outdoors product feature that saves the most time during install?
Would be our bin enclosures and BBQs. A lot of good feedback on these, they come assembled - which means there is no mucking around onsite, especially for these products where the panels can look similar and there are lots of fixings and bolts that are easy to lose, it saves so much time when you can just pull it off a pallet and bolt it into the ground then you're underway!

📍Josh Takes the Wheel | South Australia

The GX Roadshow continues, with Josh flying into Adelaide to take over the next leg of the journey.
His first day on the road included visits with City of Onkaparinga Council watch , City of Playford and Port Pirie Regional Council.

Across conversations with councils, familiar themes continued to emerge — vandalism, maintenance pressures, and the need for infrastructure that can stand up to long-term public use.

Along the way, Josh visited the recently developed Port Pirie Foreshore, showcasing how GX products are helping support well-used community spaces across the region.

New driver. Same Roadshow. More insights to come.

This year marks 20 years of GX Outdoors.

What began as a family-run business has grown into a national supplier of park and street furniture, supporting councils, landscape architects and contractors across Australia.

Over the past two decades, the focus has remained the same: to design and manufacture solutions for public spaces that bring people together outdoors.

To mark the milestone, we’re offering 20% off the list price when an order includes at least one product across three of our key street furniture and park infrastructure ranges.

With EOFY approaching, there’s still time to take advantage of the offer before 30 June.

📍Adelaide | South Australia

The GX Roadshow continues through South Australia, with Ben connecting with councils and visiting projects across the region.

This stretch of the Roadshow included visits with Rural City of Murray Bridge, City of Mitcham, City of West Torrens, City of Marion, City of Salisbury, SA, Australia, City of Tea Tree Gully, and City of Port Adelaide Enfield.

Following a visit with City of Mitcham, Ben stopped by one of their recently completed GX shelter projects — a great example of how reliable lead times and quality outcomes can help keep projects on schedule and within budget.

The trip also featured GX TimberImage table settings in Murray Bridge and a Frontier BBQ installation in Port MacDonnell.

Different projects. Shared priorities.

📍Victoria to South Australia

The GX Roadshow makes its way into South Australia, with Ben taking over the next leg of the journey from Portland and crossing the border.

Across the first stretch of the trip, the Roadshow connected with City of Ballarat, Ararat Rural City Council, Northern Grampians Shire Council, Moyne Shire Council, Southern Grampians Shire Council, Glenelg Shire Council and the District Council of Grant.

After covering hundreds of kilometres on the road, the van stopped in at Kingston for a well-earned de-brief at the iconic Big Lobster 🦞

Early conversations across the region have already revealed familiar themes — particularly around vandalism and the growing pressure on councils to select products built to withstand long-term public use.

It’s sparked some valuable discussions around how GX Outdoors solutions are designed to help reduce ongoing maintenance and improve durability in high-use environments.

New state. Same conversations. More insights ahead.
