One of the random perks of installing structural steel at height is moments like this. Between lifts and bolt-ups our riggers and supervisor are standing above one of the best views on the Gold Coast.

Working on the new Midwater Tower on Main Beach with the team from Heran Construction, now and then, the Brown Steel Team and their Contractors can look out over the ocean, and remember how lucky we are to work in an industry that literally builds the skyline.

This month marks a major milestone for Brown Steel – 30 years of steel fabrication and contributing to some of Queensland’s most critical infrastructure projects. Since our registration in October 1995, we’ve come a long way, growing into a trusted name in the industry.

Over the past three decades, we’ve remained committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability. For the past five years, we’ve operated under a streamlined Comprehensive CC3 Certified Quality Assurance System.

Looking ahead, we’re continuing to build on our "gravitas" in the industry with:

✅ ISO 9001 Stage 2 Audit scheduled for January 2026
✅ SSA (Steel Sustainability Australia) Level 3 Audit launching next month

Brown Steel is excited to be working with Built on the fabrication and er****on of the CC3 AS/NZS 5131:2016 structural steel package for the new Clinical Services Building at QEII Jubilee Hospital.

This $619.5 million QEII Hospital Expansion—along with a new multi-storey car park—will deliver additional theatres, beds, and a range of specialist clinical facilities to the Queensland Metro South Health region. The project will support improved healthcare services and generate approximately 1,120 construction jobs.

We’re proud to again be partnering with our long-time collaborators, JBD Group and Mulherin Rigging & Cranes Australia, to deliver this important project.
