Western Trapping Supplies was established and built on our desire to see the control of feral animals in Australia. We want to make trapping in Australia more humane and more affordable. All of our traps are rubber-jawed traps, or offset/laminated traps which minimise damage to animals. We want to see more Australians capable of successful wild dog trapping, fox trapping, feral cat trapping, and rabbit trapping.

Wild dog mating season is here, and that means opportunity for trappers.

As young dogs reach maturity through March–May, pairing behaviour ramps up. You’ll notice more howling, scent marking, and ground raking around the property.

All this movement makes dogs easier to read and easier to intercept.

👉 Focus on major track intersections and look for fresh raking, they’ll often favour one corner.

Here's a quick summer trapping tip 🌞🦊

Dec/Jan is a great time to be trapping the young dogs that are now out and about. They are easier to catch and food lures should work best. If you are using more potent scent/gland type lures then back off on the amount used at each set as the heat really makes the scent much louder. Also be sure to double stake as the more frequent rain could make your stakes easier to pump out.
