Station Street Affordable Housing Project Commences Construction

As the Station Street social housing development in Toowoomba enters the construction phase, RMA Soils is proud to be supporting McNab with comprehensive geotechnical inspections and testing services.

Designed by Arkhefield, this project will deliver 75 new residential units across two interconnected multi-storey buildings, contributing to much-needed social housing in the region.

Our involvement began with the initial comprehensive geotechnical investigation and design-phase advice, providing our team with a strong understanding of the site’s ground conditions.

This familiarity enables us to respond swiftly and effectively to on-site challenges, helping to keep construction moving forward while upholding quality and safety standards.

From Soil Samples to Split Times!

Last Friday, the team took a well-earned break and hit the go-kart track after a well-deserved lunch at GYG.

Turns out, our precision and competitive spirit carry over from the field to the finish line – congratulations to Arthur for clocking the fastest lap of the day!

It was a high-speed afternoon of laughs, friendly competition, and a few questionable cornering techniques.

Big thanks to the crew for making it such a memorable outing! Teamwork like this keeps us moving fast both on and off the track.

New Rig, New Capabilities at RMA Soils

We are excited to introduce our newest drill rig. This new rig is purpose-designed to expand our service offering across Queensland and northern NSW.

In addition to the standard geotechnical auger drilling, this rig is equipped with 38 & 50mm push probe sampling capabilities, adding new versatility to our fleet.

Push probe technology is ideal for:

🌿 Environmental investigations – collecting undisturbed soil samples for contamination assessments and monitoring.

🌱 Agricultural projects – sampling soils to better inform crop management and land-use planning.

Geotechnical solutions addressing Brisbane's growing housing demands 🏠

We recently undertook a large-scale geotechnical site, soil, and slope stability assessment for a multi-stage residential subdivision at Woodvale Crescent, Forest Lake.

Developed by Cohere Projects, this 5.85 hectare development aims to address the region’s increasing housing shortage and ultimately deliver 150 brand new homes.

This site marks a significant milestone as Queensland’s first land subdivision to receive SFD Approval under the state’s initiative to fast-track critical housing and infrastructure.

Our investigation played a key role in:
✅ Informing due diligence and project feasibility
✅ Supporting the development application
✅ Guiding the civil design for construction

We are thrilled to announce the completion of Geotechnical and Construction Materials Testing services for Stage 1 of Habitat at Mt Kynoch.

Situated just north of Toowoomba, this 800-lot master planned community spans 146 hectares. We couldn’t be prouder of our work for Signature Projects and Jacob McVeigh.

Project Completion | Goodwood Road, Alloway 🛣️

RMA Soils are pleased to announce the successful completion of the pavement investigation and geotechnical assessment conducted for the proposed upgrade of Goodwood Road in Bundaberg for Jonathan McDonald and the Agronica team.

As part of the pavement investigation, we delivered a range of site and soil assessments, as well as material testing. These works informed the internal pavement design and helped identify potential geotechnical hazards - supporting a foundational part of this project’s Development Approval and Detailed Design phase.
