🏁 SAVE RALEIGH MOTORSPORT COMPLEX – A FAMILY LEGACY, A COMMUNITY LIFELINE 🏁

For 42 years, the Piggott family has opened their land, hearts, and home to create Raleigh Raceway — one of Australia’s most loved grassroots motorsport venues.

Built by hand on their 127-year-old family farm, Raleigh Raceway is more than a racetrack — it’s a symbol of community, perseverance, and love for the sport that unites people.

The Piggott family’s roots in the Mid North Coast stretch back more than a century. Their ancestors fought at Gallipoli, returning home to live lives built on hard work, resilience, and giving back to others.

Now, generations later, their descendants are fighting again — not on foreign soil, but here at home — to save what they built for their community.

At the heart of it all is Chris Piggott, who poured his heart and soul into Raleigh Raceway with one goal:

“To bring affordable, grassroots motorsport to everyone — young or old — and give people a place to belong, to grow, and to heal.”

Raleigh was never about money. It was about people.
It was built for the fans, for the community, and for every person who needed a safe, welcoming place to chase passion, find purpose, and feel alive again.

💙 A Place That Heals, Inspires, and Belongs to Everyone

Raleigh Raceway has quietly become a mental health sanctuary for thousands across the Mid North Coast and beyond.

It’s where people battling anxiety, depression, or loneliness found connection through community and shared passion.
It’s where families came together, where mates found belonging, and where young people found guidance and meaning in a positive environment.

We’ve seen lives turned around here.
People who once struggled have found focus, confidence, and pride through motorsport — not because of competition, but because Raleigh gave them a place to be seen, supported, and accepted.

Raleigh Raceway has saved more lives than any of us will ever truly know.

🏎 A Legacy of Grassroots Motorsport Excellence

For 42 years, Raleigh Raceway has hosted every major grassroots and professional discipline imaginable, including:
🏁 Drifting
🏎 Circuit sprints and lap dash events
🚗 Rallycross and rallysprint
⏱ Time attack and hill climbs
🏍 Motorcycle and kart racing
🌏 World Rally Championship (WRC) stages

It’s where countless Australians got their first experience behind the wheel, learned safe driving habits, and discovered a lifelong passion.

This track has nurtured young talent, kept motorsport affordable, and remained true to its grassroots heart — all thanks to the Piggott family’s unwavering commitment to keeping racing accessible to everyone.

⚙️ A Community and Economic Lifeline

Raleigh Raceway doesn’t just bring people together — it keeps small towns alive.

Every event brings families, fans, and visitors who fill motels, eat at local cafés, shop locally, and keep dozens of small businesses running across the Mid North Coast.

It’s not just about racing. It’s about community.
When Raleigh runs, the whole region thrives — economically, socially, and emotionally.

When Raleigh stops, that heartbeat stops.

⚖️ What’s at Risk:

Without urgent support from local and state authorities, we stand to lose:

One of NSW’s last true grassroots motorsport complexes

A 127-year-old family legacy built from love and service

A proven space that supports mental health and social connection

A vital economic and cultural engine for the Mid North Coast

With Licensing and operations at risk, it won’t just end racing — it will destroy a lifeline for countless people who rely on this place for connection, purpose, and hope.

🙏 What We’re Asking For

1️⃣ Recognise Raleigh Raceway as a multi-discipline motorsport and community facility of cultural and historical importance
2️⃣ Work collaboratively with the Piggott family to fairly and transparently resolve licensing and compliance issues
3️⃣ Support long-term approvals for continued safe operation of all motorsport disciplines — including drifting, rallycross, rallysprint, lap dash, hill climbs, karts, and time attack events
4️⃣ Honour the vision of Chris Piggott, who built this track for the people — to strengthen mental health, community, and grassroots opportunity for all ages

🏆 Why It Matters

Raleigh Raceway isn’t just where engines roar — it’s where hearts heal.

It’s where young people found mentors, where families rebuilt bonds, and where ordinary Australians found extraordinary support through community and shared passion.

To close Raleigh would be to silence more than motorsport — it would silence hope.

Let’s protect what Chris and the Piggott family have built with their own hands over 127 years — a true piece of living Australian history, a gift to the community, and a legacy that deserves to continue for generations to come.
