This is why we go to work...

Took Spencer my oldest out yesterday for his first crack at squid. Was slow, but we managed this beauty. Took a sleeper jig and he reeled it in all by himself!
Safe to say, he is hooked on squid! Hopefully the season coming up is better than last for whiting and squid!

We have recently moved our bait sales over to Seaford bait!
We have a good range of their bait products now in stock and will be ready for the season ahead!

Hey everyone...bit of an announcement from us today.

As you may have noticed, Peter (not Judy, even though they share the exact same birthday) is getting a bit older and a bit grumpier. So time has come for them both to take a step sideways in the day to day running of the business
They have been running the business since the 4th of August 1997, almost 30 years!

The business will remain operating, with Brendan staying on the tools and day to day work. His older brother, Glen, will be coming onboard to help with the day to day running of the office/spares and help in the workshop where needed. Brendan's wife Jillian, will be coming onboard to help with the book work!

Peter and Judy will still be around, however, they will be on reduced hours moving forward, to focus on the next part of their lives.

We will try our best to ensure there is minimal trouble in this handover period and we will keep you updated about any issues.

(They didn't want a photo of them uploaded, so I chose this photo for your enjoyment...for those that missed it...this was when Peter got them stuck on a bank near Tooradin for 7hrs and 13 minutes!!)

Hey guys
Incase you haven't seen the post from Better boating...the Tooradin ramp is now closed.
It will be closed until spring, hopefully before the season starts again.

If we hear anything, we will let you know

Work is due to start today on the upgrade of Tooradin boat ramp and the ramp will be closed throughout the project.

The upgrade includes replacing the existing three-lane ramp with an extended ramp in-cluding a new grooved surface, new floating pontoons for boats to be tied up to and improvements to the existing single-lane carpark access road to reduce bottlenecks and improve vehicle flow.

The upgrade will benefit boaters wanting to access Western Port and is due for completion before snapper season in spring 2026.
Alternative boat ramps nearby include Blind Bight (7km by car), Cannon’s Creek (9km by car) and Warneet (10km by car). The upgrade of the Lang Lang boat ramp was completed recently and is 26km away by car.

The upgrades to boat ramps at Tooradin and Lang Lang are examples of how the Better Boating Fund is reinvesting boaters’ licence and registration fees to improve access and facilities statewide.
