Hey guys

With the long weekend coming up, we just want to let you all know that we won't be open at all this weekend.

We will be open Friday the 30th of October until 530pm and won't open again until Wednesday 4th November at 7am.

We have a freezer full of Seaford bait, plenty of 2 stroke oil and plenty of accessories, if the weather doesn't look too good for fishing and you feel like working on the boat.

Hopefully you get out for a fish and find something decent!
Have a safe long weekend, be careful and be courteous on the water and at the ramp!

Hey guys, something different today.

This is something we come across sometimes when people decide to do their own service work or have a mate that do it for them.
Poor quality, non genuine parts.

This was an impeller purchased online that lasted less than 5 mins.

There are some excellent non genuine parts out there, however, even with our non Mercury services, we choose to use genuine parts.

So next time you do some work by yourself, or a mate does you a favour, think about where your parts are coming from!

So the new ramp at Tooradin is now open!!!

I got a chance to try it out yesterday.
Took my oldest out for a whiting fish and found a few better models scattered around the top end!

For the ramp:

- It is amazing. The ramp is steeper than previous.
- it doesn't have the high spot at the top, I could see my trailer the whole time, whereas the previous ramp, I would lose it over the hump, doesn't happen now.
- it's nice and smooth, no big cracks etc
- the pontoons are nice and wide, heaps of bollards to tie off on
- the lanes are wider and painted lines and small dividers will save tyres if you stray a bit.

Downsides:
- the height to get from the ramp to the pontoon is a bit much, possibly needs ladders (for people with less mobility)
I found sitting, then spinning around and standing up was better than trying to climb up
- the height of the footpath down from the pontoons, means a small jump/climb down, or walk around the path

Otherwise, it works great. Just the same as the old one, just new and improved!

Hey guys...

We haven't seen anything from Better boating or heard from the foreshore committee, but the security fence has come down around the ramp at Tooradin.

Here's a few pictures, the selfie, while looks like a blue steel, tried to show the height of the pontoon at the top 🤣.

From what we have heard it's going to be open tomorrow, but we will keep you posted!

This is why we go to work...

Took Spencer my oldest out yesterday for his first crack at squid. Was slow, but we managed this beauty. Took a sleeper jig and he reeled it in all by himself!
Safe to say, he is hooked on squid! Hopefully the season coming up is better than last for whiting and squid!

Hey everyone...bit of an announcement from us today.

As you may have noticed, Peter (not Judy, even though they share the exact same birthday) is getting a bit older and a bit grumpier. So time has come for them both to take a step sideways in the day to day running of the business
They have been running the business since the 4th of August 1997, almost 30 years!

The business will remain operating, with Brendan staying on the tools and day to day work. His older brother, Glen, will be coming onboard to help with the day to day running of the office/spares and help in the workshop where needed. Brendan's wife Jillian, will be coming onboard to help with the book work!

Peter and Judy will still be around, however, they will be on reduced hours moving forward, to focus on the next part of their lives.

We will try our best to ensure there is minimal trouble in this handover period and we will keep you updated about any issues.

(They didn't want a photo of them uploaded, so I chose this photo for your enjoyment...for those that missed it...this was when Peter got them stuck on a bank near Tooradin for 7hrs and 13 minutes!!)
