Engineering Carbon Fiber for Extreme Performance
We’re advancing composite engineering to deliver the next generation of cold air intake systems for JDM and US platforms—built for high boost and real-world durability.
The challenge: designing a carbon fiber layup and twill pattern capable of withstanding 50 psi of boost while maintaining exceptional impact resistance. This requires precise control over fiber orientation, resin ratios, and curing cycles to optimize stiffness-to-weight and energy absorption.
To validate these designs, we’re leveraging:
• FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for stress distribution and deformation prediction under dynamic loads
• Burst pressure testing to confirm structural integrity at and beyond operating conditions
• Impact simulations and drop tests to ensure resilience against real-world handling and installation stresses
Carbon fiber’s anisotropic nature makes it ideal for these applications—but only when engineered with precision. By combining advanced simulation with rigorous physical testing, we’re pushing the limits of composite performance for forced induction environments.
The engineering team is energized by the results, and we’re excited to set a new benchmark for intake systems that balance strength, weight, and thermal efficiency.

When you’re draining your gear or diff oil and come across powdered metal it’s definitely time to add a friction additive. There’s so many out there now I won’t go bashing on one more than the other. Anything that contains a high level of zinc is worth its money and will prevent increased wear.

For gear oil it depends on whether you’re doing a JDM or American vehicle but our go to is the Castrol 75w90 Transmax. This stuff is a synchro saver!

Our WTAC mini harness is coming together, a few extra sensors added to keep things safe.
Turbine wheel speed sensor
Full flex conversion now we’ve gone away from DI to port injection. Just need to tidy this up and get some covering and labeling.

Working on the new engine loom for the Mini, future 2026 WTAC preparations. To do list to date
Remove entire engine and body loom (heavy as s**t)
Replace factory hardware with Titanium
Build removable Titanium rad support
Build new engine and body loom to suit the new
Install new Sparco QRT seat
Install Window net
Install Ohlyns and white line sway bars
Corner scale and weight final results
Assemble new sleeved engine
Install new port injection intake manifold
Remove fuel take and replace with fuel cell and carbon floor
Replace rear rotors with vented upgrades (if I don’t upgrade to a fixed 4 pot caliper
Install Link Razor PDM x 2
Build new exhaust manifold
Install G25 turbo and 42mm ext gate

Well that’s about it for now, will keep you posted as we slowly tick through the list!
