Prysmian Australia & New Zealand

Prysmian Australia & New Zealand The one stop shop for all your cable needs - tailored to suit you.

Prysmian's presence in Australia began in 1975 trading as Pirelli Cables Australlia Ltd manufacturing both power and telecommunications cables in Minto, New South Wales. Soon after, a factory site was established at Dee Why, on Sydney's northern beaches, where the telecommunications cables manufacturing activities were relocated leaving the Minto site to focus on power cables. Following the acquis

ition of MM Cables in 1999, Prysmian consolidated the energy cables manufacturing activities and internal sales operations of both companies into the Liverpool site rationalizing two workforces into one, tendering transport and warehousing services and embracing structured process improvement programs. Today, from two production sites in Sydney, Prysmian Cables & Systems manufactures and supplies the most comprehensive range of energy, data and telecommunications cables to customers all over Australia as well as export markets around the world. Prysmian is a major supplier to Telecommunications Carriers, Power Utilities, Electrical Wholesalers & Contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, Petrochemical and Mining facilities throughout Australia with an extensive range of products designed to suit specific applications.

Prysmian Australia are pleased to have been awarded nbn® Australia's 'Protected Environment' Award for 2022.
Innovation and sustainability are at the forefront of our Prysmian strategy, this has been shown in our optimisation of the 12-fibre stranded feeder cable to nbn. Our local team worked closely with NBN Co's Engineering design team to challenge the existing cable design and develop a smaller and lighter cable without compromise to the mechanical, environmental and optical performance.

A year on from the supply of this cable, we are able to see the sustainability benefits of this design, with a very significant reduction of material usage and CO2 emissions.

It is a truly outstanding achievement recognising the innovative effort of our local team in Australia, as all of our nbn cables are manufactured in our Dee Why, Sydney plant.
This award reiterates Prysmian's position as the leading supplier of optical and copper cables to the telecom industry in Australia and New Zealand.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Today on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, Prysmian Australia halted operations in our factories and observed a 1 minute's silence in memory of those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts

We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
