Douglas Powell is probably one of the most prolific contributors to public food safety in the world. He created "Barf Blog" and is still a regular social media contributor about food poisoning outbreaks and risks.
There is probably nothing the Douglas doesn't know about public food poisoning, and so I thought I would put him to the test.
In today's episode I say a food and Douglas explains the risk (the theory) and then a major food poisoning outbreak because of it (the practice).
But there is one amazing answer that should really help shape how we talk about food poisoning.
The links are in the notes.
And now let's get super real about this - what is the worst food poisoning outbreak you have seen, or what is the worst food poisoning you have experienced?
Yes, I would love some great stories for the podcast, but the truth is that people don't care about food safety but they really care about food poisoning. It is by having and sharing the "horror stories" that you can then share the lesson.
And next week we return with part 2 "why Barf Blog"?
