CAMPBELL STREET | Long associated with Sydney’s industrial, commercial, and warehouse history, Surry Hills continues to evolve through projects that balance adaptive reuse with contemporary workplace design.

Goldfish & Bay is pleased to be providing Hydraulic, Electrical, and Fire engineering services for the redevelopment of Campbell Street in collaboration with SJB Architects.

The project involves the transformation of two early twentieth century commercial buildings into a contemporary workplace and retail development within one of Sydney’s tightly constrained inner-city precincts.

Designed across multiple commercial levels with retail activation, basement parking, end-of-trip facilities, and rooftop shared amenities, the redevelopment balances contemporary commercial outcomes with the retention and restoration of the existing façade to 81–83 Campbell Street.

Our team is delivering coordinated building services design through the project’s design development, CC, and construction phases, supporting integrated servicing solutions across the evolving architectural and operational requirements of the site.

PROJECT COMPLETION | Now complete, TRILOGY has become a defining addition to the Macquarie Park skyline, bringing together three residential towers rising 38, 45, and 59 storeys as part of one of Australia’s tallest suburban residential developments.

Delivered by Meriton Group and designed by PTW Architects, the project reflects the continued evolution of Macquarie Park into a major high density urban centre, bringing suburban scale development into near CBD territory.

Positioned beside Lane Cove National Park and within Sydney’s second largest business district, TRILOGY combines residential density with retail activation, childcare facilities, rooftop amenities, landscaped communal spaces, and integrated public domain outcomes.

While we previously shared insights from within the project during construction, seeing the development now fully realised highlights the scale of planning, staging, and multidisciplinary coordination required across every phase of delivery.

Goldfish & Bay provided hydraulic engineering design services alongside BIM coordination and multidisciplinary clash detection throughout the project lifecycle.

Our involvement supported the integration of major hydraulic infrastructure, shared building services, staged delivery requirements, pe*******on management, and multidisciplinary coordination across the broader consultant and contractor team within a highly complex multi tower environment.

Projects at this scale demand far more than individual discipline delivery. As residential density continues expanding beyond traditional CBD locations, successful outcomes increasingly rely on early coordination between architecture, structure, construction methodology, authority requirements, and building services integration long before systems reach site.

Projects like TRILOGY do more than reshape skylines. They influence how future urban centres are planned, coordinated, and delivered.

Thank you to the broader site and delivery teams, including Plumb Group, for previously taking our team through the project during construction and providing valuable insight into the scale and coordination involved throughout delivery.

MEET ELIE, ROSALIE & SIENNA | WORK EXPERIENCE WEEK

This month, Goldfish & Bay welcomed Elie, Rosalie T., and Sienna into the office for their work experience placement.

Across the week, the students gained exposure to office management, engineering documentation, administration, and the day to day collaboration behind project delivery.

What stood out most was how differently each student experienced the same environment, each bringing their own strengths, interests, and perspective into the workplace.

A big thank you to the team for taking the time to mentor and support them throughout the week.

THE GOLDFISH PROJECT | Team is officially on the way to our weekend trip away.

The cars are packed, the snacks are already under threat, and several people are pretending they know where we’re going.

Morale is high. Navigation is questionable. HR has not approved the plot.

See you Monday, unless the bush claims us first.

OUR LADY OF LEBANON GRAND BALL | Goldfish & Bay was proud to attend and support the 2026 Our Lady of Lebanon Grand Ball held at CommBank Stadium, Parramatta.

Bringing together parish members, sponsors, families and the wider community, the sold out evening celebrated a significant milestone for the Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral and its Master Plan 2028 vision.

Following the recent Development Approval of the masterplan, the evening highlighted the next stage of investment into the Cathedral precinct, including improved accessibility, new community infrastructure, landscaped gathering spaces and memorial areas designed to serve future generations.

Centred around the theme "United in Faith, Building for Generations", the event reflected the strength of community support behind an important cultural, spiritual and civic project within Sydney’s Lebanese community.

Thank you to Fr Danny Nouh, Tina Salame and the organising committee for hosting such a memorable evening and for the opportunity to contribute to this important initiative.

Every project tells part of the story.

The late nights before a submission. The coordination calls. The problem solving on site. The sketches that become buildings. The pressure, the momentum, the wins, the lessons, and the people behind all of it.

Back in April, the Goldfish & Bay team came together for our 2026 Mid Year Summit. A chance to pause for a moment and reflect on how much has been built together over the past year.

What made the day memorable was not just the projects, growth, or milestones discussed across the business. It was the atmosphere in the room. Teams reconnecting. Conversations between offices and disciplines. People recognising each other’s efforts. The kind of energy that reminds you culture is not something written on a wall. It is something created every day through people.

Across the business, there are hundreds of moving parts behind every delivery. Engineers, BIM specialists, coordinators, operations, finance, HR, leadership, and support teams all contributing in ways that are not always visible from the outside.

This summit was a reminder that the strength of Goldfish & Bay has never only been about projects. It has always been about people. The relationships we build internally, the trust we build with clients, and the standards we continue to set for ourselves as a team.

To our staff, thank you for everything you bring to the business.

To our clients and industry partners, thank you for continuing to trust us to help deliver your projects.

And to everyone helping shape what comes next, we’re just getting started.

A special thank you to Capella Hotels and Resorts for hosting us in such a beautiful space. The architecture and atmosphere of the venue were absolutely breathtaking and made the day even more memorable.

Back on site at the RED MILL RUM Distillery in Rozelle | Originally established in 1933 and now revived within Sydney’s White Bay industrial precinct, the project brings together distillery operations, barrel storage, production areas, and hospitality spaces within an existing warehouse environment.

Goldfish & Bay is delivering hydraulic, electrical, and fire services design for the project.

From a fire engineering perspective, areas with high ceilings, deep structural beams, and difficult access conditions required a more considered detection approach. In this case, projected beam smoke detection was used across parts of the warehouse to provide efficient coverage over large spans while reducing the number of individual detectors required throughout the space.

In buildings with complex roof geometry and beam arrangements, traditional point smoke detectors can become difficult to coordinate efficiently, particularly when considering ongoing maintenance access and long-term operation of the facility.

A great project to walk through and a strong example of how existing industrial buildings often require more tailored engineering solutions than a typical new build.
