BUSHFIRE SEASON ... BE FIRE HOSE SAVVY!

Make sure your fire hoses are in good condition and reach all round your home. Ideally choose percolating hose, this is less likely to burn or melt during a fire emergency.

If you have a good pump, like the Aussie Fire Chief, you'll want to pair it with a 30 metre 1.5" hose to get the best performance and coverage. Alternatively, you can run two 1" hoses simultaneously ... that's the advantage of having a big 2" inlet.

It's important to have a strainer on the hose end to prevent silt clogging the vanes of the high pressure impeller inside the pump.

Finally, don't be caught short! Bear in mind that as you use water, the level in your pool or dam will drop, so ensure your suction hose is long enough.
