Finally managed to sneak in a little personal project. After securing some long sought after front runner slot mags, albeit in a VW 4stud, the look i had in mind was on the horizon.

Those in the know may have heard of Dow7, which was a protective coating applied to real magnesium wheels back in the day, giving that distinctive colouring. Achieved here with a metallic gold base and flat clear coat.

Note the 1pce, press fit hub centric centre caps. A Mallard Metalcraft original.

A seized bolt. A crooked drill. A snapped easy out. A broken casting. A vintage Z1000 case. A call to arms, or is that wings? Duckman to the rescue. Again 😊.

That's a 4.75mm end mill down a 5.0mm bore without touching the sides. Was able to measure the y-axis position. Lined the x-axis up by eye. Started machining. Made a 0.1mm adjustment. Nailed it.

Extremely satisfied with this one.
