Compressed air in action at a recent stone processing install in Mudgee.
Most people walk past a machine like this and see the blade, the stone, the finish. They don't see the compressed air system running behind it, and that's exactly the problem.

Compressed air can account for up to 30% of a manufacturer's total energy consumption. It's one of the highest costs on the floor, and one of the least examined. Old equipment, hidden air leaks, and systems that were never configured for the specific industry they're running in all add up quietly.

If your compressed air system hasn't been assessed recently, there's a good chance it's costing more than it should – https://www.focusindustrial.com.au/contact-us/

We offer complimentary system assessments. Get a clear picture of what your system is actually costing, and what it could cost instead.

Your dryer might be working harder than it needs to... ⚙️💡

On a recent installation, we engineered a dual-receiver tank configuration to maximise dryer performance and system longevity.

Air Receiver 1 acts as a wet tank, allowing heat and moisture to dissipate before the air even reaches the dryer. This pre-conditioning significantly reduces the moisture load entering the refrigerated dryer.
Combined with a deliberately oversized dryer running well within its rated capacity, the system never has to work hard to deliver clean, dry air. Less stress means longer service life, lower maintenance, and more consistent performance.

Air Receiver 2 stores the clean, dry air, acting as a buffer so air is always ready when it's needed. During high-demand bursts, air is drawn straight from storage rather than being rushed through the dryer, protecting drying quality and system performance.

The result is a system built to outlast and over-deliver.
It's the detail most installs skip, but it can be crucial for heavy industrial operations.

When one compressor isn't enough...

For a major structural steel fabrication site running abrasive blasting, a Ficep beamline, and a spray coating booth, we designed a three-compressor system where every machine has a specific purpose.

Rather than overloading a single machine, each compressor was engineered for a specific role, keeping pressure stable and output consistent across every station on this demanding site.

Are your air receivers actually compliant?

Under WHS regulations, pressure vessels require routine safety valve inspections, as well as external and internal inspections, yet many businesses don’t realise what’s required to stay compliant.

Not sure where you stand?

“Compressed air touches almost every machine in our workshop.”
— XPS Group

When XPS Group moved into their new purpose-built industrial print facility, they had one critical requirement: reliable compressed air across every machine in the production line.

From high-speed presses to precision bindery equipment, even small air leaks can impact production.

In this video, XPS owner Jason Meoushy shares his experience working with our team to design a precision compressed air system for print and why getting it right from the start mattered.

The machines printing our catalogue are powered by the air system we installed. ⚙️📖

When XPS Group built their new facility in Ingleburn, they needed a compressed air system that could keep up with their growing industrial print production.
Fast forward one year, and our catalogue is now rolling off presses powered by that very infrastructure.

That’s the value of a well-designed compressed air system.

Compressed air, installed where it actually fits.

This video shows the moment a new air compressor was air-lifted into position at Taylor Made Architectural Joinery, carefully placed at the rear of the workshop to maximise usable floor space.

For joinery workshops, it’s not just about capacity. It’s about where the system sits, how it integrates into the space, and how little disruption it causes to production.

This project shows how smart compressed air design starts with understanding the workshop itself.

Piston vs Screw Compressors
This is one of the most common questions we get from workshops and production facilities, and one of the most costly to get wrong.

If you’re sizing a new system or questioning your current setup, this breakdown will help.
