Every year the feeding dates change as per the warm and cold water currents creating a upwelling that brings the prey close the Eden coastline. Upwelling is an oceanographic phenomenon that involves currents and wind-driven motion of dense, cooler, and usually nutrient-rich water towards the ocean surface, replacing the warmer, usually nutrient-depleted surface water.
Eden is one of the only places to witness the feeding behaviour of the humpback whales in NSW, or you would have to go to Antarctica to see feeding whales.

We are looking for Marine life on the Sapphire Coast, focusing on the southern migration of the humpback whales. There is also the possibility to observe killer whales, southern right whales, common dolphins, little penguins & seals.
