Do you know what RISF is? 🤔

Aside from an FRL, ceiling systems are subject to another requirement under AS1530.4 called the Resistance to the Incipient Spread of Fire (RISF) which is included to make sure fires do not spread within the ceiling cavity.

Watch the full video here to learn more: https://hubs.li/Q04BR6HZ0

Protecting penetrations created by downlights in ceilings are a common example of when RISF ratings are needed. Fire rated downlights must have a FRL and an RISF rating for NCC Australian Compliance.

Trafalgar Fire have an engineered, fire tested and full NCC Australia compliant fire rated downlight system, the FyreHAT. The FyreHAT is easy to install, doesn't require any sealant, and is now tested for FRLs up to -/120/120 + 60min RISF in 2hr ceiling systems 💪🔥

TFire offers the world leading Siderise Group RH & RV systems right here in Australia ✅

Cladding systems are often referred to as rainscreens or ventilated facades. The Siderise RH open state horizontal cavity barriers allow drainage and ventilation whilst utilising intumescent material to seal in the advent of fire. The Siderise RV vertical cavity closed state cavity barriers complete the fire-stopping system. 🔥

These fast, clean and easy to install systems exceed the requirements of NCC and allow proven world’s best protection against fire for new buildings and recladding of buildings alike. 🏢

New Downlight & Ceiling Services Application Manual Now Available! 📑📖

Fittings such as downlights, speakers and fire alarms are often required to be installed in fire rated ceilings. However, they cannot be treated from the bottom side of the ceiling. Specially designed systems must be fire tested to maintain the Fire Resistance Level (FRL) and Resistance to Incipient Spread of Fire (RISF), to prevent fire spreading into the ceiling cavity.
Download our comprehensive application manual for our FyreHAT and Downlight Box product range, designed to streamline installation, maintenance, and compliance.

What’s inside? 🤔

✅ Detailed, Step-by-Step Guides: Clear instructions covering the installation process of our FyreHAT and Downlight Box.
