JN is proud to share that one of our heritage projects recently received a Highly Commended award in the Built Conservation category at the 2026 National Trust (NSW) Heritage Awards.
The Rocky Hill War Memorial Museum Extension at Goulburn, NSW, involved the design of a contemporary new two-storey structure to complement the existing museum that once served as the caretaker’s cottage. The interior of the new wing includes 230sqm of flexible and adaptable space for permanent and travelling collections of war memorabilia plus an area for educational programs.
JN provided services for all structural engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and hydraulic engineering elements of the design.
Project Manager Sarah Ruberto described the recognition as a testament to the teamwork that went into ensuring the longevity of one of Goulburn's most important commemoration sites.

Behind the scenes: JN is proud to be delivering Structural and Civil engineering services as part of Kempsey Macleay RSL Club's major refurbishment.
The $10 million renovation, which started in August 2025, includes new dining precincts, sports bar and seamless indoor/outdoor spaces.
JN engineers are working with BSPN Architecture and Commercial Project Group to deliver the project, which is due for completion later this year.

to JN’s Structural Engineering work on the Meriton Group Pagewood Green Allium apartment project. The 15-storey residential development has 368 apartments across two towers linked via a common courtyard and three levels of basement.

to JN's work on the new Woolworths Shopping Centre, Bomaderry. JN provided the Civil Engineering design and documentation including for a car park of 270 spaces, stormwater drainage, bulk earthworks and road design. To allow for safe access for the new commercial complex, our civil engineers worked on a design to widen the Princes Highway including a slip lane and accompanying roundabout on Cambewarra Road to manage traffic flow.

JN delivered civil, electrical and hydraulic design for the masterplan of the BaptistCare Macquarie Park Masterplan, which recently received SSDA approval.
The intergenerational precinct will bring together homes, care, and learning in one connected place marked by green space that creates connection.
JN’s design included removal of significant Council stormwater infrastructure (3 x Ø900 pipes) and ‘daylighting’ of Kikkiya Creek from Macquarie University, up to Epping Road (~200m). Reconfiguration of the scheme was centered around open space and informed by Connection to Country, including daylighting the creek and creating a new circa one-hectare park.
Bulk earthworks facilitate the shaping of the topography of site by creating the necessary grading for the internal road network, external access and activating the site for future development. Notably, they facilitate for the extension and reestablishment of Kikkiya Creek, ensuring proper drainage, ecological integration, and future community amenity.

to the transformation of disused warehouses adjacent to the Sydney Harbour Bridge to modern, light-filled functional spaces. JN was engaged alongside Hassell Architects and AW Edwards by RMS to transform a series of below-ground workshop bays into modern offices. The old bays were built into the Cahill Expressway viaduct during Sydney's post-war infrastructure boom. To meet the brief, JN's structural engineers opened up new spaces and thoroughfares, while our mechanical and hydraulic teams designed new air conditioning, ventilation, lighting, power, plumbing and fire systems throughout. A new internal roofing structure was also designed to capture seeping water from the road above. Being part of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and Cahill Expressway, all aspects of the design required close coordination and consideration of heritage elements.

Following a recent Shareholder meeting, shareholders have voted to appoint Christopher Low and Scott McMillan as directors of Jones Nicholson Pty Ltd.

With these appointments, our board now comprises four directors, strengthening our governance and ensuring JN is well positioned for the opportunities ahead.

Christopher Low has long been integral to Building Services in the City office and has played an important role in city office management. His appointment to the board reflects the confidence our shareholders have in his leadership and his commitment to the future of the business.

Scott McMillan has been part of JN for over 35 years, leading and growing our Civil department into what it is today. With Civil continuing to grow, it is entirely fitting that the discipline is represented at board level, and we look forward to the leadership he will bring in that capacity.
