Love being able to cook over the charcoal then move it into the main pit to keep warm and absorb more smoke flavour while more food is being cooked

With the workshop finally moved and setup i can get back to building, starting with completing the freestanding charcoal grills.

Been a bit since any updates, two kids and moving the workshop has definitely kept me busy, but had a smoke up for Australia Day testing the temperature controller, was a success for sure.

Very keen to try out my new FireBoard this weekend, 6 probes, session recordings, it’s able to analyse sessions for trends and the biggest reason I purchased one, the ability to control temperature via a fan, so hopefully I’ll have a semi auto log smoker, giving me more time with the kids and less time monitoring temps.

Another one finished and delivered, the workshop is moving with the hope to be setup and have a few new smokers ready for Christmas purchases, have two more to make with the old design before the new design starts, the old design, pictured here will be sold at $1200, dm if interested in one of these.

Got this torch to try and simplify the seasoning process, still a pain but makes for a unique finish, one day I plan to build a large oven to make it much more even, feels good to be back into the workshop again.

Turning out the last of the pre prototypes to be finished mid august, with the new design changes coming these will be sold discounted as run out models, there will be 2 available so get in touch if you would like to purchase.

With the birth of my second daughter I’ve been unable to build smokers, I’ve taken this time to refine and modify some parts based on feedback, testing and ideas, some of the major changes will be a collector style exhaust, a semi insulated firebox and a grate for the fire to sit on for better airflow, may also be changing the exhaust diameter to aid airflow with the new collector.

Working on a trial of these standalone charcoal grills, Will be able to attach them to a main smoker chamber if at a later date you choose to do offset smoking, they can also be modified as an outdoor fireplace or a flue added to make an small shed heater, will have 4 initial charcoal grills for sale at $350

Made this as a tester mostly to wear at work to raise some brand awareness, if anyone wants one I’d be happy to make orders on whatever colours.
