Another project we are proud to have been part of! 👷👷‍♀️
Sunland Group Group engaged Burchills to design a waterway connection beneath Lakeview Boulevard at Mermaid Waters, linking the existing tidal waterway with Lake Unity.
The design uses nine large concrete channels to allow water to flow between the two waterways, beneath the road above.
Our team supported the project from early planning through to construction; studying how water would flow, preparing detailed designs, helping select a construction contractor and inspecting the works.
Construction was carried out by Conspec Group and completed in early 2024.
Burchills is also continuing to assist clients with further development of the precincts on either side of the waterway connection.

After some fantastic days for our Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba teams, Gold Coast finally got their chance to join in on the action, teeing off on Friday for UDIA Queensland’s annual Gold Coast Logan Golf Day!
Burchills has been grateful for every opportunity to connect with clients and industry partners throughout this year, celebrating our shared successes and continued growth.

The visits covered civil and structural engineering, dams, drainage, levees, mine water management and environmental compliance.
Getting on site helps us understand what clients need and work through the practical details together.

Our Friday lunch tradition continues!
With our flexible hybrid work model, it is always great to see a full Brisbane office on Fridays, with staff even making the trip from our Toowoomba and Gold Coast offices to join us.

One of our Environmental Scientists, Camilo, is in the field undertaking detailed tree surveys combining the use of the Bad Elf Flex and GPS mapping.

He is carefully assessing each tree for accurate positioning and to identify its species, height and trunk circumference.🌳😎
