This entry-level opportunity is suited to an applicant who is highly-motivated, a team player, enjoys physical outdoor work and is keen to pursue a career as a Bricklayer/blocklayer Excellent career opportunity to join a succesfull bricklaying business.
A full time, 4-year position that will provide formal on the job training.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Learn the foundations and content to develop skills including handle and prepare bricklaying/blocklaying materials, mixing cement and carting of bricks.
Use bricklaying and blocklaying tools and equipment, such as brick saw machine, arbotech saw & grinder
Assist in setting up and packing up of job sites Carry out measurements and calculations
Apply basic levelling procedures
Working cooperatively with other trades while on site
Running errands as required Adhere to Work Place Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Complete all related TAFE work and attend classes associated with the Apprenticeship The right candidate
MUST HAVE- Have completed Year 10 or above Have a current White Card Willing to travel with occasional overnights
Are physically fit, outgoing and enjoy working as part of a team Show commitment to the study component of the Apprenticeship Display a keen interest in bricklaying and enjoy working outdoors in a physically demanding role
Has a demonstrated ability to follow instruction, has good mathematical skills, is organised, with a high attention to detail Is able to adapt to change and work in all weather conditions
Hold a current Driver's Licence and is able to travel, or willingness to obtain if under age.
